Filippo Vurro
CEO and President


Filippo Vurro is a post-doctoral researcher at IMEM-CNR (Parma) with a multidisciplinary background in Biology, Chemistry, and Materials Science. His research focuses on in-vivo electrochemical biosensors for plants and data analysis using machine learning.
At PlantBit, he leads the development of the sensor’s sensitive core and oversees the project’s overall operations as CEO and President.

Manuele Bettelli
CTO & vice-president


Manuele Bettelli is a post-doctoral researcher at IMEM-CNR with a background in Physics and Materials Science. His work focuses on advanced sensors, covering data analysis, sensor design, and readout electronics.
At PlantBit, he serves as Vice-President and CTO, leading the development and optimization of the sensor’s electronics and hardware architecture.

Nicola Coppedè
Sensor Expert


Nicola Coppedè is a senior researcher at IMEM-CNR (Parma) with a background in Physics and long-standing expertise in organic electronics and bioelectronics. 
Author of 95+ scientific publications and multiple international patents, he brings strong experience in translating research into market-ready technologies.
At PlantBit, he serves as Sensor Expert.

Michela Janni
Plant Specialist


Michela Janni is a researcher at IMEM-CNR (Parma) with a background in agronomy and plant physiology.
She leads multiple research project and initiatives using bioristor for in-vivo phenotyping and precision agriculture.
At PlantBit, she acts as Plant Specialist, bridging advanced technology with real farming needs.

Guido Cotti
Technical Account Manager


Guido Cotti is Technical Account Manager at PlantBit, with a background in biotechnology and agricultural biotechnology. He gained hands-on research experience at IMEM-CNR, where he worked on BIORISTOR-based plant phenotyping and agricultural data analysis.
At PlantBit, he bridges field operations and supporting farmers in precision agricolture.

Giovanni Fuso
Technical Account Manager


Giovanni Fuso has a background in biotechnology specifically in molecular biology and works on projects integrating data analysis and applied biology. He is interested in developing and communicating technological solutions for monitoring plant stress and supporting phenotyping and varietal selection programs.
